Combine cleanout procedure

  1. Park combine, remove key
  2. Inspect grain head for any bulk foreign matter, remove by hand
    1. If a corn head, pick up nose cones and remove debris from the gathering changes
  3. Using compressed air clean grain head to remove all dust / debris
  4. Remove any access shields on feeder housing
  5. inspect feeder housing for bulk material and remove
  6. clean using compressed error
  7. Inspect rock trap remove foreign matter and clean using compressed air
  8. Open sieve access door
  9. Open clean grain elevator access panel
  10. Open return grain elevator access panel
  11. Open grain tank access door.
    1. Blow grain out the door with compressed air
  12. Open main auger access door
  13. Ensure everyone is clear of the machine
  14. Start the machine and run it for 60 seconds to clear any debris
  15. Shut off machine and remove key
  16. Shut all access doors

 

Compost Extract

1. Fill tote with water.

2. Weight diffuser manifold in place in tote.

3. Fill filter sleeve with approximately 3 gallons of compost and suspend from diffuser manifold.

4. Attach blower to diffuser manifold.

5. Start blower and adjust air flow to disturb compost without bubbling over filter sleeve lip.

6. Continue aerating tote and compost for 30 min.

7. Empty filter sleeve, fill with new compost and continue aerating for and additional 30 minutes.

8. Stop blower. Wait 15 minutes for silt to settle to bottom of tote.

9. After 15 minutes, pump extract to sprayer tank.

Compost Tea

1. Fill tote with water.

2. Weight diffuser manifold in place in tote.

3. Fill filter sleeve with approximately 3 gallons of compost and suspend from diffuser manifold.

 

4. Add to water in tote:

          1 quart fish emulsion OR 8 fluid ounces of Hi-Energy Fish

          16 fluid ounces of Sea Crop 16 (kelp)

          32 fluid ounces of Premium Cal

          1 cup of sugar

 

5. Attach blower to diffuser manifold.

6. Start blower and adjust air flow to disturb compost without bubbling over filter sleeve lip.

7. Continue aerating tote and compost for 24 hours.

8. IF combining tea with nutrient feeding, add nutrients according to desired recipe.

9. Continue aerating for 2 additional minutes to mix ingredients.

10. Stop blower. Note the time when blower is stopped.

11. Wait 5 minutes for silt to settle to bottom of tote.

12. After 5 minutes, pump extract to sprayer tank.

12. Ensure spraying is completed within 1 hour of the time the blower was stopped.

13. Clean tote according to cleaning procedure.

Grain hauler cleanout procedure

  1. Inspect hauler for contamination
  2. Remove large items by hand / shovel
  3. Power wash the inside of the hauler
  4. Allow to dry before use
